The Machan Architecture: a Masterpiece of Ingenuity
The Machan started with a vision to create a setting that reflects the concept of “designing with nature”. The building was built to illustrate that construction does not mean that the surroundings are destroyed. Refusal to cut a single branch of forests. Since the beginning, the goal has been clear. Guests are disconnected from city life. Guests will not be constrained to a small view from a window. Their view of the vast, endless, and majestic forest will be unhindered.
Designer Shabbir Unwala took on the challenge to construct a new resort while preserving a forest. His brilliant vision brought Machan’s vision to life. Despite a mountain slope and limited space, his vision came to life. As a result, he incorporated the stunning design of a tree into his design. Four columns surrounded the fig tree, and the first Machan was built on top. The Heritage Machan stands tall in today’s courtyard, hugging a fig tree.
Each Machan is a universal space, eliminating the need for walls between the living and dining areas to give the guests an open feeling. Wooden partitions conceal the bedrooms. The Machans are carefully placed around dense trees to ensure our guests’ privacy. There is a perfect balance between privacy and peace. Enjoy nature’s therapy while you are comfortably tucked into your room.
Maintaining modernity and comfort while incorporating natural elements is the greatest challenge. This leads to a more personalized experience. What’s special about every Machan, read below ;
The Heritage Machan features a hanging room that provides a feeling of awe while enjoying the view. This Machan is also topped by a Loft, which provides a 360-degree view of Jambulne and its surroundings.
The Starlight Machan lets you sleep under a brilliant sky filled with stars. The experience is magical. Through a telescope, you can also observe several constellations.
The Canopy Machan is made from 100% recycled hardwood used in the master bedroom, a bathroom, and a private deck. With glass walls, guests have uninterrupted views of the outdoors.
Jungle Machan delivers a real jungle experience with real trees sprouting from the floor and fully stretched through the roof. A life in harmony with nature is achieved in the Jungle Machan.
Forest Machan is truly amazing, as it floats 45–55 feet above the ground. Machan is ideally suited for family getaways because it is child-friendly and offers spacious rooms where you can spend time with your loved ones.
Sunset Machan is designed as a loft suite with four distinct sections. It features panoramic views of sunrises and sunsets. It’s a great place to watch the sunrise and soak up the sun in the morning showcasing brilliant shades of red and yellow when the sun goes down the valley
The Cabin Machan also offers a secluded cabin for those seeking a quiet and peaceful vacation. It has a different appearance because it is built on the ground. Featuring a sliding roof that bends on the edges and an open porch with a water feature, it reminds me of ancient samurai houses in Japan.
Woods Machan is designed to make you feel cozy and snug, especially in the winter months with its fireplace. Through the tall trees, the Wood Machan reveals shades of solid brass. It has a romantic feel while also being eco-friendly.
A key goal of Machan’s architecture is to reflect our overall purpose of being at one with nature. To see this vision realized gives us great pleasure.
